The Iberian Strings 2012 is the third in a series of activities which unites previous editions of the “Workshop on Gravitational Aspects of Strings and Branes” and the “Northwest strings”. In these conferences, theoretical physicists of Spain and Portugal (although not exclusively) working in the field of gravity, supergravity, strings and branes get together to discuss the new advances in the field.

The Conference will be held in the ''Bizkaia Aretoa'' Hall of "Nuevo Paraninfo"  of the Basque Country University (UPV-EHU), in the center of Bilbao, near the Guggenheim museum  and the Fine Arts museum, from January 31 to February 2, 2012.

The previous conference "Iberian Strings 2011" took place in Valencia (http://ific.uv.es/iberianstrings/iberianStrings/Home.html)   

For the present edition we will have six invited speakers which will give lectures of common interest plus a number of regular talks, selected ammong the ones proposed by the participants.

PhD students and post-docs are specially encouraged to participate by presenting their own results in short talks and taking an active role in the discussions.

This conference is supported by the CPAN - Centro Nacional de Física de Partículas, Astropartículas y Nuclear, the Red temática de Relatividad y Gravitación (RTRG), the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and Ikerbasque, the Basque Foundation for Science.

Registration

The conference fee is 100 Euros if paid before January 15 and 120 Euros after this date. The organizing committee expects to have a possibility of offering a few grants for students covering registration, accommodation and travel. The students who would like to have a financial support should indicate this in the field ''Comment'' of the Conference Registration Form.
