The main purpose of this subject is to learn to compute efficiently, and we will be emphasising a practical point of view.

• Assessment:
• Grades will be awarded on the strength of a final examination.
• There will a theoretical question in the final exam (of special note for the students in the English speaking group: it is not required for you to write your final exam in English; you can, if you so wish, use either Basque or Spanish instead of or as well as English).
• In the problems section of the final exam you will be allowed the use of one page for formulae and similar, and whatever else you want, as long as it is properly bound (no sheets floating around!) and is not an examples book.
